Autos Tempest Group

This review is long overdue, I have purchased an Acura MDX from this guys in about a month ago and had it shipped from Warren MI to Rancho Cordova CA. The thing that made me look for a car outside my own state was first of all the price, found the car on Autotrader, and it was listed as a private sale, so I called the owner, who was a Lady from NJ, who at that time worked on a cruise ship and was away most of the time so she said that is why she choose to sell the car trough a broker. At first, the price, the story, it all sounded to me like some Craig's scam to be honest, but I told myself, let me investigate this further and find out the truth, and not just act based on what other people have experienced so I did. She gave me the contacts for Autos Tempest in Warren and I called them. Spoke with Robert who explained to me the process and the options I have available, and of course the first option was for me to go pick it up in person, but since I was busy with work most of the time I had to consider shipping it. After he explained to me the process and the cost of everything I have decided to do it, spoke with my bank and they released a certified check which I have sent to them. They have shipped the car 5 days after I have sent the check, and it took another 6 days to get to me.
The deal goes like this, you get the car, after you pay for it of course, you get the title and everything, but there is a clause in the contract that says you have 7 days or 250 miles to test it after you have received it, and if you find any issues with it you can return it at no cost and get your money back. I know, sounds to good to be true, but after Robert has pointed out the fact that this procedure is done by other much larger companies, one of them being Carvana, which I knew, and after I have done my own research and found out that was true, I've decided to go trough with it. In the end it was all as advertised, the car arrived, I took it to an Acura dealership where they have performed all the tests on it, and everything was as expected. I am happy with the purchase, but still, I remain a fan of seeing the car first before buying it, so in the future if I plan to purchase another car from them I will book a flight and go visit them, saw they have a large inventory and maybe by going there in person I can find an even better deal next time.
