He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine, completed his internal medicine training at East Tennessee State University / Quillen College of Medicine—serving as chief resident at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center—and finished his general cardiovascular fellowship at Charleston Area Medical Center / West Virginia University and his interventional cardiology training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
