William R. Schmidt II, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Additionally, he completed cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Schmidt is assistant clinical professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. In addition to clinical cardiology, Dr. Schmidt has special interests in cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiology, nuclear imaging, PET and cardiac CTA. Dr. Schmidt’s mission is to provide the highest quality, compassionate, patient-centered care in the area of cardiovascular medicine.
Away from the office, Dr. Schmidt enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and cycling.
