Western Drug & General Store has been a unique part of the Round Valley area since 1934. It has a rich history of taking care of peoples' needs as a pharmacy, sporting goods and general store. Established in 1934 by Ellis Chitwood, Western Drug was purchased by Merle Harper in 1958, and he ran the store successfully for many years. Expanding the small pharmacy to a full-line store of more than 18,000 square feet proved Merle was ahead of his time. Today's store is run by Merle's son, Fred Harper, his wife, Deb, and 40-plus employees.
