Southern California Hospital at Van Nuys is a 57-bed behavioral health hospital that provides voluntary acute inpatient and outpatient mental health services serving the San Fernando Valley. Contact the hosptal at (818) 787-1511 during business hours and (800) 565-0558 24-hours a day.

Our services include assessments by physicians, nurses and social service professionals. Patients also are assisted with discharge planning. For those in need, transportation to and from the hospital is provided.

Van Nuys behavioral health hospital offers round-the-clock nursing care, daily medical management by internists and psychiatrists, as well as daily group therapy led by social service staff and recreation therapy staff. This therapy is to help patients with their social and communication skills.

Southern California Hospital at Van Nuys offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed to help patients live more independently and reduce the need for future hospitalizations.

Patients come first in everything we do. Our primary focus is on the complete care of the patient—in a healing environment, with compassionate hospitality and a collaborative team approach to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Program goals include talking to a healthcare professional in a friendly, supportive and safe environment; learning to manage thoughts and feelings; developing relationships; and having more structure in day-to-day living. Patients meet individually with a case manager to help achieve these goals.
