Timothy S. Welch, MD, FACC specializes in advanced heart failure, infiltrative cardiomyopathy, mechanical circulatory support, and the management of cardiogenic shock. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure.

Dr. Welch earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Science and pursued his residency and fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He completed his Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant fellowship at the University of Virginia.

A Marine Corps infantryman right out of high school, he served in the first Gulf War. He left the Marines for college, went to medical school, joined the Army and culminated his military career as a Lieutenant Colonel and cardiologist.
