Tara was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and was raised in Colorado Springs. She grew up in a home where she was drawn to take care of others. Her mother was a nurse who became chronically ill and Tara has helped take care of her over the years. Becoming a physician assistant (PA) was a natural fit for her. Tara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After college she worked at Boulder Community Hospital where she shadowed a PA. That experience led to her attending the University of St. Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she earned her Master of Science degree in PA Studies in 2005. Her clinical interests include pediatrics and geriatric medicine. Tara specializes in helping diabetic patients achieve their health goals and in managing many other chronic medical conditions.

Family is important to Tara; she has been married for more than decade and has two daughters. As a family, they enjoy skiing, hiking, road biking, traveling and any other family adventure.
