Dr Kesmodel is a surgical oncologist and board-certified general surgeon at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also a professor of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed her fellowship training in surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. At Sylvester, Dr Kesmodel works as part of a multidisciplinary team of breast cancer experts. She is the Director of Breast Surgical Oncology and co-leader of the Breast Site Disease Group.
