The Springfield Missouri Temple was announced in April 2023 by Pres. Russell M. Nelson, making it the third temple in the state. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on 6 June 2026. An open house and dedication date have not yet been announced. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet.
