Dr Sonia Richards earned her medical degree from St. Matthews University School of Medicine Grand Cayman and completed her residency at Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, Georgia. She received her undergraduate and graduate degree in Nursing from Florida International University. She is board certified as a Family Medicine Physician. Dr. Richards has been practicing medicine for a total of 29 years. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Richards was a Family Nurse Practitioner for 26 years. Dr. Richards specializes in acute and chronic care, and general family medicine. Her special interests include obesity and lifestyle medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Richards enjoys gardening and has been a performing vocalist for many years in her congregation. Dr. Richards is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
