Salma has worked as a care coordinator, teacher, therapist, and clinic manager throughout New York. As a child, Salma struggled with anxiety. As conversations about therapy and mental health are taboo in Muslim American/Arab culture, she was somewhat ashamed of her mental health until she made the choice to become a therapist. This decision has enabled Salma to become a voice, a support, and a resource for many other Muslim American people who struggle with their mental health.
