All of us know what it feels like to be marginalized and shamed, the hurt and embarrassment that can come when we are mistreated or misunderstood and our dignity is violated. It does not mean there is something wrong with us, it means something wrong happened to us. No one can take our dignity away from us, it is always in our hands. It needs to be cared for and we are the only ones in charge of our dignity.
