Ranganathan Govindaraj, MD, is fellowship-trained and board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain management. He believes in a personalized and multidisciplinary approach to pain management to improve their quality of life. Govindaraj has expertise in endoscopic pain procedures and interests in minimally invasive therapies for multiple indications like spinal stenosis, compression fractures, peripheral nerve stimulation, and spinal cord stimulation.
He’s also a professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he’s active in medical research and teaches residents and fellows. His work has been published in many peer-reviewed medical journals.
Govindaraj received his medical degree from the University of Madras, and completed his residency and fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has over 20 years of experience in anesthesiology and pain medicine and has practiced in three countries.
He sees patients at several UT Physicians locations across Greater Houston and is active in the medical community.
