Peter Haines, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been caring for patients in the Columbia community since 1986. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont School of Medicine in Burlington, where he also completed his internship and residency in general surgery. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery in Charlottesville, where he had additional fellowships in hand, craniofacial and burn reconstruction.

Dr. Haines is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate Association, the Columbia Medical Society, and several other professional organizations. His expertise encompasses a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries of the breast, body and face, including pediatric and congenital deformities.
