Ovais Khalid, MD completed his residency in psychiatry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, La., in 2013 in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine.He received his board certification in psychiatry and neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2013; was awarded Fellowship of American Psychiatric Association in 2015; and was certified by the National Board of Physician and Surgeons in 2019. During his time at LSU-HSC he earned several awards, including the “Competency Award” in recognition of excellence in professionalism and medical knowledge and the “Psychiatry Scholar Award” for outstanding academic and research publications.Dr. Khalid is currently a member of the Maryland Psychiatric Society, American Psychiatry Association, Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association, and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.In previous years, Dr. Khalid has published an impressive amount of research. While attending Rawalpindi Medical College, Dr. Khalid helped organize the Second International Conference of GI and Hepatology in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
