Nigel moved from Jamaica to Hartford as a young man and pursued his vision for a career in healthcare. He attended Capital Community College and then the University of Hartford, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. He earned a master’s degree from Walden University in 2017.

As a student, Nigel witnessed firsthand the differences in health outcomes caused by disparities in healthcare access between low-income residents in Hartford County and other members of the community.

He developed a passion for bringing quality healthcare to underserved communities and for educating his patients, particularly about the medical conditions that disproportionately affected them.
