About Mortenson BLUlabs
BLUlabs is Mortenson’s research, prototyping and low-volume manufacturing facility in Fridley, Minnesota. Designed and built in house, the 90,000-square-foot space gives Mortenson teams configurable bays, 3D printers, CNC machines, plasma cutting and dedicated engineering and fabrication staff to test new tools and methods before they reach the jobsite.Work developed at BLUlabs has led to patented products, semi-autonomous jobsite equipment, robotics pilots, precast duct bank designs and prefabricated electrical assemblies used on Mortenson’s energy, data center and commercial projects. It is also home to the industrialization team for Mortenson’s solar business.
BLUlabs is a Mortenson facility and is not open to the public.
