Michael Fortson, MD, is board certified in family medicine. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Fortson has been in private practice in the metro Atlanta area for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Fortson takes a special interest in preventative medicine and the management of chronic diseases, including the treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and high blood cholesterol. In his spare time, Dr. Fortson enjoys spending time with friends and family. As a Georgia native, he enjoys learning about local history, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the beautiful North Georgia mountains. Dr. Fortson welcomes new patients and accepts most major insurance plans.
