Dr. Michael L. Brummitt, MD, FAAO, was raised in Florence, Alabama, graduating from Bradshaw High School as a Mark of Excellence recipient. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Birmingham Southern College before finishing medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine under a full scholarship. He did his surgical/transitional intern year at Caraway Methodist Hospital and his residency at the Eye Foundation and University of Alabama in Birmingham Combined Program of Ophthalmology. During his residency, he received the honor of being appointed Chief Resident of the ophthalmology program.
