Mercy has always been part of my family. We moved here back in 1998 and my dad started as a physician at Mercy that year as well. I feel like it's always been an end point for me to go to Mercy and end up here. And I feel like it was meant to be. In family medicine you get to see anyone from the ages of newborn to senior citizen ages, from life to death basically, it's full spectrum. You never know what's going to walk through that door. In terms of patient decision-making, I never like to be the voice of authority. I always make shared decisions. I like to approach my patients as a two-way road rather than me being authoritative.
