I have been active in nursing for over 45 years, beginning as a direct patient care nursing assistant and working my way up to becoming a family nurse practitioner.I earned my BSN in 1984 and, after many years of direct patient care, completed my MS as a family nurse practitioner in 1998, during which I became a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. I have served in multiple clinical settings with experience from newborn through geriatric care over my long career.
