Mackenzie is a Certified Nurse Midwife that joined out care team in 2024. She has been a resident of Sevier County since age seven and always dreamed of returning to care for the community that raised her. Her education includes a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in 2020 and a Masters of Nursing with a specialization in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in 2024. Her background includes working as a Labor and Delivery RN at the University of Tennessee, and most recently, as a Labor and Delivery RN at the Dolly Parton Birthing Center here at LeConte. Her passion for health education and patient autonomy fueled her decision to go back and become a Certified Nurse Midwife. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, she manages care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period; sexual and reproductive health; gynecologic health; and family planning services, including preconception care. When she is not working, she is most likely to be found hiking in the mountains or tending to the family farm alongside her husband Alex.
