Dr. Karen Hanna earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1986. She did an internship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Medical Center, in internal medicine from 1986 to 1987. Dr. Hanna went on to do a residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Medical Center, in internal medicine from 1987 to 1989, and a chief medical residency from 1989 to 1990. She did her fellowship also at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Medical Center, in cardiology from 1990 to 1993. Dr. Hanna is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology.
