Justin Mathew, M.D., is a spine surgeon with Norton Leatherman Spine. He earned his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, New York, and completed his fellowship training in spine surgery with Norton Leatherman Spine in Louisville. Prior to this training, Dr. Mathew graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Neuroscience.

Dr. Mathew’s training has included complex adult and pediatric spinal deformity, minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic surgery and spine surgery training with a team of neurosurgeons at an academic tertiary care hospital in India. In addition to his clinical and research endeavors, Dr. Mathew is a dedicated educator and mentor, having advised numerous undergraduate and medical students. He is conversational in Spanish and Malayalam.

Dr. Mathew is originally from New York. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, traveling and cooking.
