Dr. Martini was born and raised in rural Maine in a small cabin off the grid. She was attracted to the osteopathic philosophy of medicine because of the holistic approach, grounded in discovering and addressing the root cause of problems. She fell in love with the hands-on osteopathic approach to care and pursued extensive additional training in osteopathic manipulative treatment through her medical school and family residency years. She was awarded a National Health Service Corps scholarship and served for 5 years in remote northern California practicing family medicine, and teaching at a Family Medicine residency program.
