I think part of my own history helps me as a physician. The fact that I have diabetes. The fact that I have a chronic disease that I've had to manage helps me in educating patients and helping them know what to expect. As far as being a pediatrician, I'm a father of 10, so I have lots of experience at home, and I've seen lots of things even with my own children.
