As a family medicine physician, Dr. Alford focuses on preventive medicine to assist his patients in reaching their optimal level of health. He truly enjoys providing care to every member of the family, from young children to older adults. His areas of interest include office surgical procedures, prevention, and reversal of disease through lifestyle changes, and those times when he has a few moments to catch up on important things in his patients’ lives outside of their health care needs.
Dr. Alford joined IHA after spending four years practicing medicine on active duty with the United States Army, including overseas combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He grew up in Chelsea and returned home to the area to establish his practice. Dr. Alford is co-medical director at Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Primary Care - Chelsea. He has maintained board certification in Family Medicine with the ABFM since 2001 and is a member of AAFP.
