Danville's historical society is all about celebrating heritage by placing historical plaques on local buildings throughout the town, and the building that houses our local J.McLaughlin store even received a special plaque in 2017. Bridges is located in downtown Danville, known for being home to filming the 1993 hit film Mrs. Doubtfire starring the late, great Robin Williams. "The Ave" is home to Danville Chocolates, a candy store serving sweet confections including caramel and chocolate-covered apples. Lastly, the local bookstore, Rakestraw Books, is a family owned-and-operated bookstore that has been a staple of Danville since 1973.
