Highland Valley Vineyards

Our initial vineyards, planted in 2009 and 2010, include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. All vines are hand cultivated. In the spring and early summer of 2018, we completed our planting. Our vineyards now include Petit Verdot, Malbec, in addition to more Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. We are now growing all five of the red Bordeaux varitals and look forward to making our signature Craftsman Cuvee as an estate wine.
But wait! It was not complete! In May of 2020 we added a small block of Semillon. This is a white grape from Bordeaux which is blended with Sauvignon Blanc to create a "white Bordeaux" wine. In California there are 360,000 acres of wine grapes but only 540 acres of Semillon. We are thrilled to have this rare white grape thriving in our San Diego foothills vineyard.
