In 2014 I had a career change opportunity from Interior Design to Health and Life Insurance. As much as I enjoyed my previous career, as an Insurance Agent I am able to help people where they need it most - protecting their financial security through Health and Life Insurance. I came to HealthMarkets in 2022 and it is the best career change I could have ever made.
With my construction background, my approach to insurance is like building a house. First, you need a solid foundation - your major medical ( Individual ACA, Employer, Union, Medicare)
Second, you need something to protect you from the elements - walls. That would be things like Cancer / Heart / Stroke Insurance, Hospital Supplement, and other Living Benefits. Insurance does have gaps so you want to fill in the gaps as much as possible.
And last but certainly not least, you need a roof to protect you and your family from the storms of life - Life Insurance. Protect those you love when you are no longer there to provide for them. Many people are surprised at the amount of Life Insurance they can afford to protect their loved ones future.
Build the best you can and then review often to fill in where you find you need more coverage.
