Hartwell & Company was founded by its namesake, James Hartwell, in 1989. For more than 30 years, Hartwell & Company has served clients throughout Southwest Michigan from its location in downtown St. Joseph, providing comprehensive tax, accounting, and financial planning services. In 2015, Jim Hartwell expanded the business by opening a second office in Kalamazoo, thereby extending service to clients over a greater geographical area. The company grew again in 2021 and opened a third office in Parker, Colorado. Ryan operates the Colorado office.
