Dr. Giridhar Burra is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute under Dr. James R. Andrews. Among the first in the Chicago area to earn sports medicine board certification, he specializes in arthroscopic surgery and complex injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. Dr. Burra has treated athletes from professional teams including the White Sox, Jets, Rangers, and Islanders, and serves as team physician for several schools and the Joliet Slammers. He is also an accomplished researcher, lecturer, and international educator in sports injury management and prevention.
