Emily McLaughlin, MD, provides care with the Women's Health team and sees patients at our TCM at Springfield Clinic Peoria Women's Health location.Dr. McLaughlin earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.Dr. McLaughlin was inspired by her family to pursue the medical field. "I grew up looking up to a lot of people who were in medicine," she says. "I wanted to be just like my family, and here I am!"Dr. McLaughlin originally planned to pursue orthopedic surgery, but realized she wanted more face time with patients. "A big part of what I didn't want to let go of was general practice," she says, "taking care of people in the clinic and having a relationship with them. Then I did my OB/GYN rotation and realized it was the perfect balance for me."Both from central Illinois, Dr. McLaughlin and her husband are excited to be back near their families for this next chapter.In her free time, Dr. McLaughlin enjoys spending time with her son and family, reading and being outside.
