Dr. Thomas Meyer is a board-certified cardiologist with more than 51 years of experience serving cardiovascular patients. Dr. Meyer joined Middle Georgia Heart in 2024 after providing decades of care to patients in Middle Georgia through his private practice.

Dr. Meyer received his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, KY. In 1978, after completing his residency and cardiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, he moved to Macon to start his practice, Thomas P. Meyer Cardiology. Through his private practice, Dr. Meyer became a pioneer by bringing invasive cardiology to Middle Georgia patients. He opened the first Cath Lab at the Medical Center of Central Georgia (now Atrium Health Navicent the Medical Center). He was also the first physician in the region to offer coronary angioplasty and stents to qualifying patients.
