Dr. Contreras is a 3rd generation Arizonan. He and his wife Lexie moved their family to Prescott after finishing medical school and residency training in Internal Medicine.
Erik completed undergraduate education at Arizona State University, then moved their family to Guadalajara, Mexico to attend Autonoma de Guadalajara for medical school. After four years, he continued his training at New York Medical College.
Finally, they were able to move their family back to Arizona to complete his residency at Maricopa County hospital. Upon completion of residency, the family moved to Prescott where Dr. Contreras became quick partner at NAZ Hospitalist group. He has been working as a hospitalist and ICU physician for the last 7 years.
