Decorative Stitch is a sewing machine store and quilt shop in Shelby Township, Michigan, serving sewists throughout Macomb and Oakland counties. Since 2015, owner Sara Gallegos, host of the PBS quilting show Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, and her team have helped customers choose Baby Lock, BERNINA, and bernette sewing, quilting, embroidery, and serger machines. Shop designer fabrics, precuts, quilt and bag kits, patterns, premium threads, stabilizers, notions, cutting tools, and machine accessories. Decorative Stitch also offers sewing machine repair, edge-to-edge longarm quilting, and hands-on sewing, quilting, embroidery, and serger classes.

Camp Decorative Stitch is the ultimate sewing getaway for anyone who loves quilting, embroidery, sewing, serging, and making beautiful things with fellow creatives. Hosted by Sara Gallegos, owner of Decorative Stitch, this isn’t just a sewing retreat—it’s an experience designed to inspire, teach, and connect. Spend the weekend learning from incredible instructors, creating amazing projects, and enjoying time with a community of makers who share your passion. Throughout the weekend, you’ll rotate through exciting classrooms featuring projects and techniques from some of the biggest names in the sewing industry: Amanda Murphy – Quilting Workshop Learn ruler work techniques while creating an elegant quilted placemat you’ll love displaying at home. Gail Yellen – Serger Lab Discover professional serger techniques while creating a stylish zippered tablet case. Debbi Lashbrook – Sewing Cabin Create a decorative pillow while learning sewing tips and techniques you’ll use again and again. Kim Christopherson of Kimberbell Designs – Embroidery Room Create an exclusive Kimberbell Camper Pin Cushion project available only to Camp attendees, and enjoy a special Kimberbell Trunk Show filled with inspiration and behind-the-scenes stories.
