Dr. Hunter obtained his bachelors degree while a student athlete at Sam Houston State University and his doctorate from Baylor College of Dentistry while a member of the honor society. He completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Hunter also served at the Veterans Hospital during his residency.
