Dance and Joy DJ Wedding DJ Events

Unfortunately, Ray was not what we were hoping for in a DJ. I chose him off our venue's preferred vendor list, but he did not rise to the occasion (they have since removed him after I let them know about everything).

I am a very avid music lover and I take music very seriously, so I had high expectations. My mother and I spent a long time crafting music selections that would play through various parts of the night. He barely used the playlists, even after three explicit phone conversations (one of which we had to reschedule due to him not calling me at 9:00 pm, a time he set), and played selections that I would never have chosen. I also asked him to go around during dinner to ask guests for their selections, but he sat on his phone for the entirety of dinner. I had to prompt him throughout the night for the next part of the wedding.

He also played the wrong song (that was both written down on his timeline and given to him on a playlist) for both the Father-Daughter Dance and the Bride and Groom's Last Dance. He also was told multiple times that he was NOT to say Mr. and Mrs. Ortiz, as I am not taking my husband's last name AND it is a stressor for some, and he continued to disrespect me by misrepresenting my name.

He was constantly on his phone every time I looked over or interacted with him, did not interact with my guests or play their requested songs, and did NOT look at his very explicit talking points, so my guests were often confused about what was expected out of them.

I wanted to make sure my opinion was not biased, so I asked many different guests, and all were very unsatisfied with him. My maid of honor told me that he asked her at the beginning of the night if there were any songs she wanted played and if she couldn't think of any, she could return later. When she did, he told her that it was "her fault for not getting the music selections to (him) a week ago so he couldn't play any of her songs. The disrespect towards my guests is the reason I am writing this review. My step-father and a groomsman also said he refused to play their music.

I would NOT recommend him as your wedding DJ.
