Being frustrated with the medical field is what led me to be a part of it. I chose medicine a bit later in life than most, after being an adult patient myself and thinking I could offer better care for and service to my patients than I was being offered. As a physician, I prioritize bedside manner, respect and improving quality of life for each patient; I want everyone to be seen for themselves, not their symptoms. \n I chose family medicine because of the diversity of patients, and the chance to provide continuous care over life's stages. My first goal at any visit is to make each patient feel comfortable so they know I will listen without judgment. I believe establishing that trust leads to improved patient outcomes. \n I want to improve my patients' health by not just treating illness but by preventing it. I aim to exclusively prescribe medications that will improve a patients' quality of life; I work to decrease medication burdens on all of my patients. \n I was born in Maryland, raised in southern California, and went to college and medical school in Virginia. My wife and I moved from Virginia to Colorado for my career. After having our first child, we moved to North Carolina to be closer to our family. I enjoy golfing, boating, fishing and being outdoors, which makes the Lake Norman area perfect for me.
