Cathy Sowers has worked in family practice with Dr. Becky Knudson in Spearfish since receiving her Nurse Practitioner degree in 2009 from South Dakota State University. She enjoys seeing families and obstetrics patients and enjoys treating all ages of the lifespan. Cathy received her Doctorate in Nursing in 2017 and fills in as a clinical instructor for South Dakota State University. Her interest in osteoporosis led her to become a certified Clinical Densitomistrist through International Society for Clinical Densitometry and to be a founding member of the Fracture Liaison Clinic in Spearfish with Dr. Richard Keim. She has been married to her husband, Clark, for nearly 40 years and has 10 children, three of which are adopted through foster parenting. Cathy enjoys gardening, sewing, baking, painting and running, and has participated in half marathons and 10-K races with her children.
