Captain Ronnie Black earned his sea legs working for his father (also Captain Black) fishing the Atlantic waters off the coast of South Florida in the 1960s and ‘70s. He brought his commercial fishing trade to the Gulf Coast and was doing well, catching, packing, and selling local species caught in the gulf and local bays.
