Arkansas Valley Hospice Inc offers hospice and palliative care for people with a life limiting illness in Otero, Bent, Crowley, Pueblo, Lincoln, Las Animas, and Kiowa counties. Anyone who has a life expectancy of six months or less, as certified by two physicians, and no longer seeking treatment is eligible for hospice care. In addition to regular visits by a registered nurse, services provided include help with personal care such as bathing, shaving, and the provision of medications, supplies and durable medical equipment related to the terminal illness. We offer counseling for both the patient and family members to help them through the loss and life transition associated with the illness. Support for the family is provided both during the patient's transition and formally for 13 months following the death. Arkansas Valley Hospice has been providing services to the Arkansas Valley community for over 35 years.
