Dr. Andrew Kramer is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with over 26 years of experience. Early in his medical career, Dr. Kramer worked as a Registered Paramedic at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He subsequently completed medical school at the University of Maryland, followed by a Surgical Residency and a Shock Research Fellowship at the University of South Florida. Dr Kramer served in the US Army Reserve Medical Corps as a surgeon from 1994-2015, with 2 active duty deployments, retiring in 2015 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. From 2009 to 2013, he served as Chief of Surgery at Piedmont Eastside. He has received recognition from the Vitals Patient Choice Award, Most Compassionate Doctor Award, and his practice was selected “Best of Gwinnett” for multiple consecutive years. Dr. Kramer specializes in General Surgery, with particular interests in hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, skin cancer surgery, and gastrointestinal procedures. In his spare time, Dr. Kramer enjoys traveling, playing billiards, and precision long-range shooting. He also speaks fluent French.
