With a doctor for a father, Dr Andrea Loder grew up following him around the hospital and watching him work. She has always been fascinated by science and loves learning about medicine. Dr Loder explains, “Pediatrics is the icing on the cake because children are so fun. They are honest, straightforward and resilient. I cannot image doing anything else.” In more recent years, Dr Loder has had the opportunity to view healthcare “from the other side of the exam table” - as she’s navigated through a terminal illness and catastrophic injury within her own family. These experiences helped her be a better physician by reminding her how much each and every visit matters to the patient.
