Since Alto took over in October 2024, this facility has declined drastically—especially in the Memory Care unit. What was once a compassionate, well-run community under Vineyard is now dangerously understaffed and poorly managed. Temporary staff unfamiliar with residents are regularly used. Care plans are ignored, and essential support like toileting, transfers, and medication administration is inconsistent. For seven months, there were no activities in Memory Care. Food is often cold, inconsistent, or completely inedible. There have been multiple safety incidents, including residents getting outside unsupervised and others suffering preventable injuries. Most concerning of all: Alto does not support aging in place. Several families have already removed their loved ones due to serious care concerns. Others were issued 30-day discharge notices after voicing complaints. While cameras are technically allowed, staff have been instructed to cover them, reducing visibility and accountability. Communication from management is nearly nonexistent and staff frequently claim they are unaware of important information about residents—adding to families’ frustration and distrust. If your loved one is highly independent, they may be okay here. But if they need consistent support or memory care, this is not a safe or appropriate environment. Alto Johns Creek is no longer a facility that promotes long-term, dignified care. Families deserve better.
