The Allan M Walker Insurance Agency has been in business since its inception in 1847, starting a long history of serving the community of Taunton and the surrounding area. It all began in 1847 when a gentleman named Phillip Hill opened his door to sell insurance representing one company. After various management and ownership changes, Mr. Allan Walker came to purchase the agency in 1948 just over 100 years from the beginning. Eventually the Walker Agency was acquired by the Paul Peters Town Crier Group of Falmouth Massachusetts. This change in ownership kicked off two important events in the Walker Insurance history.
