We used Mike / All Around Handyman in the spring of '22 to remodel a very small bathroom at our cottage. At first, he was very responsive but became less so as the job dragged on.
The work was supposed to be completed in a couple of weeks, it lasted a couple of months.
Putting aside all of the delays and excuses, the work looked OK upon completion. When it was time to square up, Mike tried to almost double the price agreed upon because; it took longer than planned (on him), for materials he under-bid (on him), and for 'extra' work, we didn't agree to (on him), etc. I believe we agreed to pay him a couple of hundred more out of goodwill ( I wish I hadn't).
Just a month or two after the work was completed, we noticed one of the floor tiles in a corner was cracked, he told me that we must have dropped something on it (if you could see where and how tiny the area in question is, you'd see it isn't possible).
Next, we noticed they used flat & enamel paint on the wall, so the two different paints look shiny in some places and flat in others (on the same wall). The shower wasn't sealed properly and flooded the floor after just 3 months of use.
All of the grout is cracking and the sub-floor (that they repaired) is flexing making the grout issue worse.
One of the walls they framed & dry-walled has a crack running across it.
The cuts on the trim/base molding look like my teenager made them, and one of the corners at the base of the shower is already rotted from another unknown leak.
There's a good chance we will be seeing him in court since he won't respond to the warranty requests I've sent, except once when he blamed us for cracking the tile.
