I've known I wanted to be a nurse since I was 5 years old. That's when I started telling my parents that I planned to become a nurse "to take care of people." \n As a high school student, I took all the science classes I could because I found the human body and all its systems fascinating. \n After working as nurse for nearly 18 years, I decided to return to school to become a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP), which allows me to better serve my patients. I can now work with them directly to develop treatment plans. \n I believe in a collaborative approach to patient care. The relationship between patient and provider is a special one, and when the two work in tandem, it leads to better health outcomes. \n Two decades of working at the bedside as a nurse helped me develop a strong rapport with my patients. Many years spent working in trauma and the ER - including resuscitating people in cardiac arrest - have given me clinical knowledge that I bring to bear in treating patients. I strive to provide superior care, delivered with kindness and respect, by actively listening to my patients' concerns while working together on solutions. \n My husband and I have three children - two sons and a daughter who was similarly called to work in healthcare. She's a traveling nurse. Our family enjoys traveling; we've been to many U.S. states, as well as Greece and Italy. My husband is Italian and we enjoy entertaining family and friends and serving them some of our favorite, authentic Italian dishes. \n In my spare time, there's nowhere I'd rather be than at the beach. I'm especially fascinated by marine life and love learning about it. I'm an avid reader and particularly enjoy mysteries and thrillers. I also enjoy crafting, crocheting and baking.
