Alexandra Yoon, M.D. completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry and history from the College of William and Mary and her medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed the George Washington University Psychiatry Residency program and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Children's National Hospital, where she served as a chief fellow her final year.Dr. Yoon has developed interests in trauma-informed care, psychopharmacology, cross-cultural and community psychiatry. She has been active in research efforts studying mental health literacy in Korean American families and adolescents, the efficacy of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) training for trainees, climate mental health, psychopharmacology and the impact of trauma across developmental stages.Dr. Yoon completed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities Fellowship at Children’s National Hospital, the Combined Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Fellowship Program and the Adult Psychoanalytic Fellowship Program at Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis.
