Periodontal disease erodes the supporting structures of the mouth, which is very painful. In this process, harmful bacteria is created, and can spread through your dog or cat’s bloodstream to their internal organs, causing serious health issues later in life. This is why it is so important to have a veterinary team that helps you with regular cleanings, other advanced dental work when necessary, and can educate you on proper at-home care.

We also check for dental disease during our physical exams, which is about much more than just bad breath - but your pet’s complete overall health! Oral bacteria puts pets at risk for painful teeth and gums, and more serious issues like organ damage.

More than half of the teeth are below the gum line, so it's not surprising that most dental disease is found below the gum line too! To make up for what cannot be seen during a visual exam, we've invested in dental x-ray technology.
